Tennessee - Woodward 5009 TMR Upgrade   

A Woodward 505 and Woodward CPC (Current to Pressure Converter) were upgraded on the Hydrogen Recycle Compressor at a refinery in Memphis.

The client was considering the upgrade on his Nuovo Pignone turbine to increase the reliability of this critical piece of equipment and to include redundancy to prevent any single point of failure stopping the compressor.

The scope of supply from GCS was to design and build a free standing cabinet rated for a Class 1, Div 2 environment. This cabinet houses the Woodward 5009 turbine controller, dual ac to dc power supplies and all the relays and terminals to interface into the existing turbine control system.  GCS provided the interface design between the new Woodward 5009 and the existing field wiring, transducers and switches.
