Woodward Ignition system on Cooper GMW-8 engines
Project Overview
A natural gas pipeline customer had an outdated system that was hard to maintain and replacement parts were difficult to locate. They needed to adjust timing of the individual cylinders of Cooper engines and monitor the engines remotely, tying into the existing PLC for data logging.

GCS applied the IC-920 state-of-the-art capacitive discharge ignition system controller especially designed for spark-ignited engines used in gas compression, electric power generation, and industrial applications. Customer now can adjust timing remotely to improve overall performance, including individual cylinder timing. |
