Woodward Air/Fuel Controls for Gas Engines

L-Series Air/Fuel Ratio Control
The Woodward L-Series Air/Fuel Ratio Control provides precise air/fuel ratio control for engines using three-way catalytic converters to reduce exhaust emissions. [A catalyst that simultaneously eliminates hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) is referred to as a "three-way" catalyst.] The Woodward L-Series is a microprocessor-based air/fuel ratio control for four-stroke, gaseous-fueled engines operating with a near-stoichiometric air/fuel ratio. It is designed to work in conjunction with a three-way catalytic converter to efficiently reduce exhaust emissions. By automatically maintaining an optimum air/fuel mixture, emissions compliance is achieved and catalyst life is maximized without operator.

E-3 Engine & Emissions Control
The system can be used as a stand-alone air-fuel ratio controller or as a complete gas engine emissions and engine control. It is designed for stoichiometric, spark-ignited natural-gas engines used in gas compression,  power generation, pumping, and other stationary applications ranging from under 300 kW (400 hp) to over 2 MW (2700 hp). It has full authority over spark, fuel, and air. Additionally, diagnostics such as misfire detection and other health monitoring and engine protection functions are integrated into the system.

The E³ Rich Burn system-based solution analyzes and controls all of the functions of your engine and catalyst  to optimize the amount of time your engine is in compliance. The system controls the air-fuel ratio through a fuel metering trim valve. By means of the exclusive StableSenseā„¢ oxygen feedback sensor in the exhaust  and the unique StableSense control algorithm the air-fuel ratio (lambda) is controlled slightly below 1 to optimize the three-way catalyst emission reduction.

GECO
The Woodward GECO Stoichiometric Model 100 (GECO S100) was designed as an inexpensive, state-of-the-art air/fuel ratio control for natural gas engines in the aftermarket. The Woodward GECO S100 is an easy-to-install, low maintenance, and expandable solution for natural gas engines. Woodward is the only manufacturer offering a system for the stationary engine market combining air/fuel ratio with adaptive catalyst control and oxygen sensor health monitoring. The Woodward GECO S100's wide range of control authority quickly manages engine speed and load variations. The Woodward GECO S100 is also available in a lean burn configuration to further enhance emissions control.

PWM Steppermotor Valve
The Woodward PWM Steppermotor Valve (PSV) is a gas trim valve designed to mount directly to a gas mixer (such as the D100 gas mixer). Due to the piston position feedback, the Woodward PWM Steppermotor has a high position accuracy which results in excellent Lambda control. The Woodward PSV is suitable for naturally aspirated and turbocharged intercooled engines. The Woodward PWM Steppermotor Valve covers an engine power range of 70-275 kW (NA and TCI).

Lambda Control Valve
The Woodward Lambda Control Valve and the Double Function Valve are designed to mount directly to a gas mixer (such as the D100 gas mixer). Both valves have a main gas trim function resulting in optimal lambda control. The Woodward Double Function Valve has an extra function as idle gas trim valve, which ensures good performance at idling. The Woodward Lambda Control Valve and the Double Function Valve cover an engine power range of 70-275 kW (NA and TCI).
